Every FieldFaktor project follows the same path from creation to finished reports. Knowing the five steps — and the two ways a project leaves your list — makes the rest of the app predictable.
1. Create the project#
- Field app: tap the + button in the bottom navigation, fill in the homeowner and property address on the New project sheet, and tap Create project. See Create a project.
- Dashboard: select + New Project on the Projects list, with the option to assign it to a team member. See Create and assign projects.
Creating a project requires a connection. At creation, a Hail Report by HailBrief is ordered automatically and free of charge — no button to press — and delivers where HailBrief has coverage. See Weather and the Hail Report.
2. Inspect and capture on site#
Open the project, review the details, and tap Begin Inspection to move into the Inspection tab. Guided Capture walks the property — roof, elevations, interior, other structures — labeling every photo as you shoot. Capture and inspection answers work fully offline; everything saves on the device and syncs when you are back in coverage. See Start an inspection, Guided Capture, and Working offline.
3. Answer the Closing questions#
The Closing tab runs Final Pass — a checklist of everything the report still needs, section by section, ending with the Report conclusion questions. Final Pass suggests answers from what you documented — marked Suggested — but nothing is written until you confirm each one yourself. When the card reads All sections complete, tap Go to Reports. 4. Mark complete and generate#
On the Report Review tab:
- Tap Mark Inspection Complete & Review Report. FieldFaktor builds your report from everything you documented so you can review and edit it before generating the final documents.
- Review the sections, then tap Generate report.
Generation runs in the cloud, so it needs a connection — but you can keep using the app while it runs. Both documents — the FieldFaktor Inspection Report and the FieldFaktor Photo Report — arrive in the project's Documents tab, typically within a minute or two, and the report-ready email goes out. Generating a project's first report package consumes one project credit. See Generate reports.
5. Done — the Completed filter#
The field app's Projects screen has three filter pills: Active, Completed, and All. Once its reports are generated, a project moves from Active to Completed. Searching ignores the pills and looks across all projects.
Leaving the list: archive vs. delete#
- Archive (dashboard, reversible): the row menu's Archive hides a finished project from the Projects list. Find it again under Archived and use Restore to bring it back. Nothing is lost.
- Delete (field app, permanent): the project card's ⋯ menu offers Delete Project. Company-owned projects can only be deleted by the Owner or by team members the Owner has granted delete permission — everyone else sees a note to ask their Company Owner.
