The field app at field.fieldfaktor.com is where you create projects, document inspections, and generate reports. This tour covers the three places you spend your time: the projects screen, the bottom navigation, and the project workspace.
The projects screen#
Sign in and you land on the projects screen. It greets you by name — Welcome back — with a count of your active projects underneath, and a sync status pill on the right that reads Synced, Uploading, Saved offline, or Check uploads depending on what this device still has waiting. Tap the pill to open the uploads sheet; see Working offline for what each state means.
Below that:
- A search field (Search projects...). A search looks across all of your projects, whichever filter pill is selected.
- Filter pills Active, Completed, and All. A project moves to Completed when its reports are generated.
- Project cards showing the homeowner's name, the project number, and the address. Each card has one-tap call, text, and navigate icons, and shows your amber Day-of Reminder note when you have written one on the Details tab.
- A ⋯ menu on each card with shortcuts into the project — Contact, Documents, Notes (opens the Log tab), Inspection — plus Delete Project.
Bottom navigation#
The floating bar at the bottom has three controls:
- Projects — the projects screen you just read about.
- The center + button — opens the New project sheet from either bottom-navigation screen; inside a project, tap ← Projects first. See Create a project.
- Account — your profile, upload and storage preferences, notifications, appearance, and sign out. See Account and settings.
The project workspace#
Tap a card to open the project. A scrollable tab bar runs across the top with ten tabs:
| Tab | What it does |
|---|---|
| Details | The customer and property record, your Day-of Reminder note, and the Begin Inspection button — see Details and the Interview. |
| Weather | Hail history for the property address from the automatically ordered Hail Report, where HailBrief has coverage — see Weather and the Hail Report. |
| Interview | Optional questions about the property, who was present, and temporary repairs, all feeding the report — see Details and the Interview. |
| Documents | Generated reports, uploaded documents, and homeowner upload links — see Documents and upload links. |
| Log | The project's activity log: automated entries plus any notes you add — see Notes and scope notes. |
| Field and Scope Notes | A free-form field notepad and scope rows built from your inspection, exportable as a PDF — see Notes and scope notes. |
| Inspection | The capture workspace — visits and trips, the guided flow, and completion photos — see Start an inspection. |
| Closing | The Final Pass checklist and the report conclusion questions — see Closing and Final Pass. |
| Photo Review | Every photo and video, grouped by area, by visit, or as before/after pairs — see Photo review. |
| Report Review | Where you wrap up the inspection, review the report, and generate the final documents — see Generate reports. |
