The Details tab holds the customer and property record; the Interview tab collects optional context about the property, the visit, and any temporary repairs. Nothing on the Interview is required — what you do answer flows into the generated report.
The Details tab#
At the top sits the Day-of Reminder — a note box for anything you need on inspection day: a gate code, a homeowner note, special instructions. Whatever you type here also shows as an amber note on the project's card on the projects screen, so it is in front of you before you knock.
Below that is the customer and property record:
- Tap Edit Details.
- Update the fields — Name, Phone, Alt Phone, Email, Property Address, City, State, Zip, Damage Type, Date of Damage, and Damage Description.
- Tap Save Details.
Empty phone and email rows read "Tap Edit to add" — worth filling in, since they power the call and text shortcuts and upload links.
At the bottom of the tab, Begin Inspection jumps you to the Inspection tab and records "Inspection started." in the Log. See Start an inspection for what happens next.
The Interview tab#
Everything here is optional context that feeds the report — answer what applies and skip the rest. The sections, in order:
Job Origin & Conditions#
How Did This Job Start? offers chips for how the project came to you, plus an Anything Worth Noting? (Optional) field.
Conditions During The Inspection#
An optional card with Temperature (°F) and Wind (mph); a From local forecast badge appears when the app filled them from the forecast. While an inspection visit is running, the app fills these from the local forecast; you can edit them at any time. They go into the report as one line of context for how the roof was walked.
Property & Occupancy#
The property basics: Year Built, Year Purchased, Roof Age, Siding Age, Number of Stories, Property Type, Foundation Type, Construction Type, Occupancy (with Describe Occupancy for anything unusual), and Property Condition.
Inspection#
- Who Was Present at Inspection — chips for Homeowner, Adjuster, Public Adjuster, and Other, with an Other — please specify field.
- What Is Being Claimed — pre-filled where the project already knows; edit as needed.
Temporary Repairs#
Are Temporary Repairs Needed? and Have Any Been Completed? are Yes/No questions. Answering Yes to either reveals the detail fields: Services chips (Tarp, Board Up, Water Mitigation, Temporary Repairs), Who Is Doing The Work?, and Details. Choosing Other for who is doing the work adds a Company Name field.
Additional Details#
A single Additional Notes field for anything else worth carrying into the file.
When the record is straight and the context is in, head to the Inspection tab — the Interview answers will be waiting in the report when you generate it.
