Projects created on the dashboard flow straight to your team: assign one to a team member and it appears in their field app. This article walks through the + New Project form and the ways to assign work afterward.

Create a project#

  1. On the Projects tab, click + New Project.
  2. Under Customer, enter the homeowner's Name and Phone (both required) and, if you have it, their Email.
  3. Under Property, enter the Address (required) plus City, State, and Zip; set Date of Event and Date Received if known; and pick the Project Type (required) — Wind, Hail, or Wind/Hail.
  4. Under Project Details, enter a Project # (required — your own numbering, e.g. RS-1001) and, optionally, a Claim #.
  5. Under Assign Team Member (optional), pick a team member — or leave it on — Unassigned (project goes to company queue) — to assign later.
  6. Add a Description (optional) with anything the team member should know in the field.
  7. Click Create Project. The dashboard opens the new project's workspace.

Assign or reassign from the list#

Only Owners assign and reassign. There are three ways, all on the Projects list:

  • Unassigned rows show an orange Assign button in the Assigned To column — click it.
  • Open a row's ⋯ menu and choose Assign (or Reassign to move the project to someone else).
  • Select several rows with the checkboxes and click Assign N to hand them out in one pass.

Each opens the Assign project window — click a team member's name to assign the project immediately. Each name shows how many active projects that person is carrying; Cancel closes the window without assigning.

What the team member sees#

An assigned project appears in that team member's project list in the field app — field.fieldfaktor.com or the FieldFaktor iOS app — ready to open on site. Team members can also create their own projects directly in the field app; see Create a project.
