The Report Review tab is where an inspection becomes finished documents. You read the exact text your report will contain, edit anything in place, and generate both deliverables with one tap.

Wrap up the inspection#

The first time you open a project's Report Review tab, a card titled "Wrap up this inspection" explains the step: "Marking the inspection complete builds your report from everything you documented so you can review and edit it before generating the final documents."

  1. Finish the Closing tab first. When it shows All sections complete, its Go to Reports button brings you straight here.
  2. Tap Mark Inspection Complete & Review Report. The button reads Marking… while it saves, then the document sheet opens.

Review the report text#

The tab loads your report as a white document sheet with the FieldFaktor letterhead across the top. While it builds, you see "Building the exact report text from your inspection. This takes a few seconds." — the sections that appear are the exact text the generated report will use, not an approximation.

Every section is editable in place:

  • Tap into a section and type. An edited section shows a green ✓ Edited chip and a Revert link that restores the original text.
  • Sections built from your inspection carry an Edit in FieldFaktor ↗ link that jumps to the matching Inspection section, so you can correct the source data instead of rewording the result.
  • Edits save automatically — a Saving… / Saved blip appears at the top right.

Generate the report#

  1. Tap Generate report. The button reads Submitting…, then Submitted — generating.
  2. Generation runs in the cloud, so you need a connection. It typically finishes within a minute or two — the hint above the button says it: "Your reports will appear in the Documents tab when ready."
  3. Both deliverables appear in the Documents tab:
    • FieldFaktor Inspection Report — an editable DOCX with a PDF view.
    • FieldFaktor Photo Report — a PDF of every report photo with its location, description, date taken, and who captured it.

When the package finishes, FieldFaktor also sends the report-ready email (subject "FieldFaktor report ready" plus the project number), and the project moves to your Completed filter on the Projects screen.

What the Inspection Report contains#

The report is recommendation-first — it tells the reader what you concluded before walking through the evidence:

  1. Enclosures
  2. Property Description
  3. Reported Cause of Damage
  4. Weather Review — retitled Verified Weather Event when the Hail Report confirms the storm
  5. Inspection & Recommendation — your close-out conclusion and recommended scope of work
  6. Inspection FindingsDwelling, Other Structures, and Personal Property
  7. Comments
  8. Prepared By

Empty sections are skipped entirely — no bare headings. Your company logo and letterhead (address, website, license) print on the cover and every page; the Owner sets them on the dashboard under Company Settings.

Project credits#

One project credit is consumed the first time a project's reports generate. It covers both documents — you are not charged per document, and generating again for the same project does not use another credit. The Owner buys credits on the dashboard under Billing.

If generation is blocked#

The tab names the first thing blocking generation. Two blockers appear before you tap anything — the button reads Not ready to generate and a message explains why:

  • "The inspection isn't complete" — an orange card lists what remains: "The report can't generate until every required item on the Closing tab is complete or disregarded", with a count and the first few item names. Clear them on the Closing tab.
  • Photo uploads pending or failed — messages like "3 photos still need to upload before cloud generation." or "1 photo upload failed and must be retried before cloud generation." Open the sync pill to retry; see Working offline. Videos never block generation.

Two more appear only after you tap Generate report, as a red message under the button:

  • You're offline"You're offline — reconnect to send the report for generation." Reconnect and tap again.
  • No project credits — as the Owner: "This company has no project credits available. Buy credits at app.fieldfaktor.com under Billing." As a team member: "This company has no project credits available. Ask your company owner to add project credits."
