FieldFaktor has one price: your first five projects are free, then $30 per project. This article covers how credits are spent, where Owners buy more, and what the field app shows when the balance hits zero.
How pricing works#
- Every new company starts with 5 free project credits, added automatically the moment the company account exists. No card required.
- After those, project credits cost $30 each, bought as needed. There are no plans, no seat fees, and no subscription — nothing bills monthly.
- One credit is spent per project, at the moment the project's first report package generates. That single generation produces both the FieldFaktor Inspection Report and the FieldFaktor Photo Report — the pair costs one credit, never one credit per document.
- A credit is spent once per project. Generating reports again on the same project does not spend another credit.
- The whole team shares the company's credits. Adding team members costs nothing.
The Billing tab (Owners only)#
Sign in at app.fieldfaktor.com and select Billing in the top navigation. The tab appears only for Company Owners — team members do not see it.
Buy credits#
The Project credits card shows your balance as "{N} available · $30.00 per project credit".
- Enter a quantity in the Credits field.
- Check the Total.
- Select Buy credits. The dashboard opens Stripe Checkout, where you pay by card.
When you return, the page confirms "Payment received. Credits will appear as soon as Stripe confirms the checkout session." — the new balance shows on the Project credits card once Stripe confirms the payment.
Invoices and payment methods#
Select Open Stripe portal → to view and download past invoices and receipts and to update your payment method. All invoice history and payment details are managed by Stripe, not stored in the dashboard.
The usage table#
The This period · usage table shows one row per project that generated its first report this period, with columns Project #, Homeowner, Report generated, and Billing status. For most companies every row carries the green Credit chip — the project was paid with a prepaid project credit. Companies billed under a FieldFaktor agreement may also see Billed, Pending, Retrying, or Failed while a charge is being recorded.
Your agreement#
If your company has signed a FieldFaktor agreement, a Your FieldFaktor Agreement card shows its status. Once fully executed, open it with View Agreement ↗ or, when available, Download PDF.
Control who can spend credits#
Every team member can spend company credits by default. To turn that off for one person:
- Select your avatar in the top-right corner to open your profile.
- Under Company, select Company settings.
- Under Team Management, clear the Use credits checkbox next to the team member.
Owners always keep full access — the checkbox applies to team members only. See Company settings for the rest of that page.
When credits run out#
The field app never shows a credit balance — it blocks only at the moment of generation:
- A team member with Use credits turned off sees "Your company owner has turned off report credit usage for your account."
- At zero balance, a team member sees "This company has no project credits available. Ask your company owner to add project credits."
- At zero balance, an Owner sees "This company has no project credits available. Buy credits at app.fieldfaktor.com under Billing."
Nothing is lost. Photos and inspection answers stay put, and once credits are added you generate the reports as usual. See Generate reports.
Refunds and questions#
Per the Terms of Service, an unused purchased credit can be refunded if you request it within 30 days of purchase. Credits already spent on a generated report are not refundable, and the five free credits have no cash value.
