Every project on the dashboard opens into a workspace: the project's header facts up top and four panels — Documents, Photos, Contacts, and Notes — below. Click any row on the Projects list to open it; ← Projects takes you back.
The project header#
The header shows the project number, the homeowner's name and address, and a Google Street View hero of the property. Close the hero with Hide street view and bring it back with Show street view — the choice is remembered in that browser. A facts column lists Type, Date of Loss, and Claim #.
An amber or red ⚠ flag next to a value means it was auto-extracted — the tooltip reads "Auto-extracted — please verify". Check the value against your records and correct it through Edit Project; saving a corrected field clears its flag.
Arrange the panels#
Every panel has a drag handle titled "Drag to reorder this panel". Documents and Photos share the main column, Contacts and Notes the side rail, and the order you set is saved on that device.
Documents#
The Documents panel is one list, newest first, of uploaded files and generated reports. Uploaded files show a chip of their file type (PDF, DOCX, and so on); generated reports show DOC for the FieldFaktor Inspection Report and RPT for the FieldFaktor Photo Report.
Report rows offer:
- View — opens the PDF in the browser. Reports generated before a PDF view exists show Download only.
- Download — saves the original file, renamed with the report type and homeowner name.
- An X to delete when you have permission.
Uploaded files open in the browser (PDFs) or download (other file types) when you click them, and offer a pencil Rename.
Add your own files by dropping them on the "Drop files here or click to upload" zone.
While the field app's report job runs, a Cloud report generation row tracks it: the status chip moves through Queued, Validating, Building, and Saving. When generation finishes, the row clears and the reports appear in the list. A Failed row stays, with the error shown in red; deleting it removes only the entry: "Generated reports will not be removed."
Photos#
Photos are grouped by the section where they were captured — Roof, the elevations, Interior, and so on, with detached structures under their own building labels. Photos from a Completion visit group under Completion — After Photos with an After chip. General photos that were never filed into a section collect under General — Unfiled with an Unfiled chip; General photos stay out of every report unless Include in photo report is turned on — see Photo review.
- + Add on a section opens an inline uploader. Pick which item the photo belongs to, then Pick photo(s) — pills and label inherit from the group you chose.
- Click a photo to open the lightbox, where you can edit its description, adjust its pills, or click Annotate to draw on it. Annotated thumbnails show a green ANNOTATED badge, and saved annotations are picked up the next time the report generates.
- ◷ Preview Report opens a draft photo-report layout, titled "Photo Report Preview · Draft (not generated)".
- Download all zips the originals plus annotated copies, with a "Downloading X / Y" counter.
The panel shows the first 12 photos — click Show all N photos at the bottom to expand, and Show fewer photos to collapse again. Videos do not appear in this panel and are never part of any report. Once a project has generated reports, deleting a photo asks for an override reason first.
Contacts and Notes#
Contacts lists the Homeowner, the assigned Team Member, and your company, with phone and email where they are on file.
Notes holds your team's internal notes. Click + Note, type into the Add Note dialog, and Save Note. The System (N) toggle reveals auto-generated entries — for example a "Report generated" note when a report package finishes.
Edit or archive the project#
The ⋯ menu in the header holds Assign / Reassign (Owners), Edit Project, and — when you have permission — Archive Project.
- Edit Project opens the Customer, Project Details, and Notes fields. Changing the address re-geocodes the property, and saving clears the ⚠ flag on any field you corrected.
- Archive Project is reversible: "It comes off your project list, but nothing is deleted — photos, reports and history stay as they are." Restore it any time from the Archived view on the Projects list.
