The Documents tab is the project's file cabinet: generated reports in one list, everything else in another, plus a secure way for the customer to send you files without an account.
Generated Reports#
When you tap Generate report on the Report Review tab, the FieldFaktor Inspection Report and the FieldFaktor Photo Report both appear here, typically within a minute or two — one action produces both. See Generate reports.
Each row shows a DOC or PDF chip, the report name, and the date. Tap a row to view it, or open the row's menu for:
- View — the paginated PDF view of the report.
- Open editable — the Inspection Report's DOCX original, for editing in Word or Pages (shown when the PDF view is available).
- Share — the share sheet, to send the file by text, email, AirDrop, or any app on the phone.
Uploaded Documents#
Everything else lives in Uploaded Documents:
- Tap the + button (Upload document) to add a file from the phone — an invoice, a signed authorization, a permit.
- The Hail Verification Report PDF arrives here automatically when the HailBrief hail history completes. No one uploads it.
- Each row's menu offers Open, Add Signatures (PDFs only — opens an editor for adding signatures, and the signed copy saves back into this list), Rename, Share, and — where permitted — Delete.
Send the customer an upload link#
When the homeowner has documents you need — a mortgage statement, an insurance letter, photos of their own — send them a secure upload page instead of chasing email attachments:
- On the Documents tab, tap the link icon (Send upload link).
- Pick the recipient and tap Text or Email. If the sheet says "Add homeowner or contractor phone/email on the project to send a link.", add their contact info on the Details tab first.
- Your phone opens a pre-written message containing the secure link — review it and send.
The customer taps the link and lands on an Upload Documents page for the project — no account, no sign-in. Files they add appear in your Uploaded Documents list.
Deleting documents#
Deleting is permission-gated:
- You can delete only uploaded documents you added from the app yourself.
- The Hail Verification Report can only be deleted by the Company Owner, and only on projects they created — its findings feed generated reports, so deleting it is deliberately restricted.
- Generated reports have no delete option in the field app. They can be deleted from the dashboard's project workspace — permanently, so treat that as a last resort.
